Jagadish Mohanty: A veteran writer, widely accepted as trend setter in Oriya literature has conferred with prestigious Sarala Award, Orissa Sahitya Akademy Award, Vishuba Award ,Dharitri Award. He is also conferred by many organizations like Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd, JK Paper mills and Janatarabandhu etc. Eleven anthologies of short stories and five novels are yet published to his credit. They are: Ekaki Ashwarohi (1979), Dakshina Duari Ghara (1979), Irsha EkaRutu (1979) Album (1981) Dwiprahara Dekhinathiba Lokatie (1988) Judhdhakshetre Eka Eka (1994) Nian o Anyanya Galpa (1995) Mephestophelesra Pruthibi (1996), Suna Ilishi (2002), Sundaratama Pap (2006) and Saturira Jagadish (2006). These are all anthologies of short stories. The novels are: Nijanija Panipatha, Kanishka kanishka, Uttaradhikar, Durdina and Adrushwa Sakala. A tele serial on his lifestyle and creation, directed by Dr.Satti Khanna, a Professor of the Duke University, Durham, U.S.A, was telecasted by Doordarshan’s National Programme.
